Why is it so difficult for busy working moms to do something for ourselves? I always sort my kids first, with the newest running shoes and fresh sunscreen, and I look in my closet at tired old clothes and 80’s sneakers. After our annual spring clean, the patio furniture is pulled out and the purge of junk and remanence of winter is gone. I have a reoccurring note in my calendar nagging me to sort my clothes–take the good ones with labels to Ex-Toggery and get some cash; pass the rest on to family and caregivers–and get a pedicure.
This week, in the spirit of Mother’s Day, let’s actually do something for ourselves (and the other women or moms in our life), make it a priority, and not feel guilty about it. My annual boozy Friday lunch with my high school besties has just been moved up to a monthly event. And I may even shop this weekend. Bin the dry mascara and get a new DiorShow and get some fresh T’s at Ani+Wren’s sale.
To ring in spring, here are my picks for must-have spring essentials. Something for the home, something to inspire, a fashion bobble and a bag. Things we love for her…and you.
