Harvest season...the leaves are changing, farmers markets are popping with colour and produce is at its prime. We’ve worked hard all year and now it’s time to reap the benefits of our labour. September is about honouring farmers and all the winemakers who have been doing it forever – shout out to my dad and his homemade wine that I look forward to every year and tops my list of favourite wines, due to the obvious reasons.
From PEC to Niagara, here are my favourite Ontario wineries to visit, stock up and celebrate the season and how to enjoy these beautiful locations:

Norman Hardie Winery and Vineyard, Picton: quality wine and quality pizza. Sit outside and enjoy the scenery.

Henry of Pelham, Niagara-on-the-Lake: cozy with a historic feel. Taste the wine then grab a bite at the Coach House Cafe, a cute little restaurant on the property dishing out local, seasonal food.

Pearl Morissette: covered in Alo Magazine. Very hip, very cool. Book a tasting during a warm day under the chestnut tree outside.
Harvest season kicks off the changing of seasons as we prepare for fall and put away remnants of summer, boxed up only to be unpacked next year. Farmers markets, wineries, roadside stands...now is the time to shop local and celebrate the beauty of (wine-inspired) harvest season.
